Performance can be a safety feature when it comes to overtaking, but there has to be a compromise. I agree with what Ben is saying, but if other people have different priorities to me, that's no problem.
As for the VL drivers, I'll just take off slowly and chuckle to myself when I drive past and they are wrapped around a tree...
