SALT LAKE CITY, August 8, 2002- Land Rover North America today announced a joint partnership with outdoor footwear supplier, Teva. Teva will be the official provider of footwear for the "Land Rover G4 Challenge" National Selection Trials in the United States. In addition, the contestant that advances to the International Selection phase will also be outfitted with Teva products.

"Because both Land Rover® and Teva® are brands that embrace outdoor lifestyles, Teva's participation in the 'Land Rover G4 Challenge' was a natural fit," said Richard Beattie, executive vice president sales and marketing, Jaguar Land Rover North America. "Land Rover's participation in the Outdoor Retailer Expo, and Teva's involvement with the 'Land Rover G4 Challenge' are the first steps in demonstrating the benefits of this venture."

Those attending the show and the Teva exhibit will get a sneak peak of the Land Rover G4 Challenge Freelander, which will debut at the Paris Motor Show in September.

"Both Land Rover and Teva are synonymous with adventure," said Wendy Welling, marketing manager, Teva. "Providing footwear for a national selection competition, which will appeal to our core audience seemed natural, and so we're pleased to be back working with a brand that appeals to the adventure minded individual."

LAND ROVER G4 CHALLENGE

The "Land Rover G4 Challenge" is an adventure competition that will test competitors' ability to excel through arduous driving, physical and mental tasks over both extreme and urban territory. The event is comprised of four consecutive global stages, each in a different time zone, and will commence in New York City on March 30, 2003, and go on from there to cover approximately 4,000 miles on three continents during five weeks of intense competition. The "Land Rover G4 Challenge" will feature stages on the east and west coasts of North America, in addition to Australia and South Africa, traveling through remote areas as well as urban centers such as Quebec, Cape Town, Sydney and Las Vegas.

One competitor from each participating nation will be selected to represent their country in the Challenge when recruitment begins at the end of August 2002. As well as striving for individual success, competitors will have to demonstrate their abilities as bi-national team-players by working with a different teammate during each Challenge stage.
