To save the development costs associated with introducing low-range gearing they should just use an existing 6 speed box but call it a 5 speed with s super low first gear that wouldnt be used for taking off in normal conditions. Kind of like a 1/2 gear before 1st. After all, low range is only ever used for super slow speeds like <20km/h so there's no point in having 5 or 6 low range gears. A super low gear and 1st will do the job just as well and save on weight and complexity.
For those of you who have a gripe with the size of those wheels...remember that its designed to go offroad. That means you need some sidewall on the tyre and suspension travel. I think 60 profile tyres are cutting it pretty close when it comes to offroad use. As soon as you put bigger wheels on it you can kiss the offroad ability well and truly goodbye...and in that case why bother buying the car in the first place?
Just my thoughts.
