Team GT unveiled the new FPV GT racecar at Queensland International Raceway today.
The rumours are true. The car is decked out in orange and white and carries sponsorship from Yamaha, Peter Warren Ford Smithfield, King Springs, Sunshine Ford and Triple R Racing. It looks and sounds SENSATIONAL!! Suffice to say, the entire racetrack came to a halt as the race commentators turned their attention to the car rolling from the transporter in front of a large expectant crowd of spectators and fellow competitors.
A monumental effort by Craig Lyon and John (aka Mother) had the car prepared in the space of two weeks from a rolling shell to a race car and in the on-track interview BRT (Trevor Haines) publicly thanked the entire team for everything done to launch the latest of Team GTs cars and the first Ford GT to be racing in Australia since the early ‘70s.
No images to post at this stage, they will be uploaded to the team website Monday night, www.teamgt.com.au or you could try the Procar site, www.procar.com.au, as they may post something sooner.
Team GT’s other car, the ever-faithful TE50, with John Falk at the wheel, put in a solid performance to take the car to fourth fastest in official practice today. All in all, looks like a pretty successful weekend coming up for Team GT.
So come on people, if you live anywhere near QIR, support Team GT and GET YOUR BACKSIDE TRACKSIDE!!!
