I bought q 1999 Explorer Limited used. In the last two years it has blown 2 plugs. Dealer said the plug wires are burning up and this is causing this.

I bought the extended warranty on the Eplorer. Is this covered? Have they been recalled for this. The dealer also said they had some other Eplorers that did this.

Thanks.

I would look at your extended warranty to see if it is covered. Some will cover others will not. Some will charge a deductible others will not.

I dont see any recall or TSB so far for this problem.

Have you done any work on the engine at all?
When was the last time the leads were replaced?
Have they ever been replaced or are they the originals?
How many miles you getting on the plugs before the problems occur?
Is Ford replacing all plugs when the problem has been addressed or are theyjust replacing the one that goes bad?

There are a few more things, but I think that should cover it for now.

Thanks for replying. I will answer your questions in the order you posted them

1. I have not done any work on the engine
2. All parts are orginal on the engine
3. There are 52,000 miles on the truck
4. They are replacing on the plugs and wires that are bad.
