Time to vent the spleen,

supposed to be picking up my new xls v8 ute in mercury with 17 xr wheels on friday so we could take her on a run-in maiden cruz, on my day off Saturday, however..........

Front bumper got scratched so she has gone to the paint shop for repairs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe it, brand new and already in the paint shop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:wtf:

Perhaps Ford could have swapped over a front bumper in mercury from another un-sold unit, or are paint batches a different colour?

Anyway with the leather still to be fitted, plus a few other minors, it looks like next week.

This is gonna be a longgggggg weekend:sperm:.

Right, feel better now - thanks:wnc:.

Did you ask how this happened? Could have been damaged by any one person who drive the car starting with the guy off the Toll Truck (one of the reason why spring chocks are fitted to the springs so cars don't bottom out coming off the truck), pre-delivery mechanic, detailer or salesman. Never know, but I feel sorry for you mate.

It was the truck driver from the wharf (nz).

The dealer wanted 1800 nz $ but I got a set secondhand from my mag wheel specialist for a straight swap for my 16s. The tyres have 80% tread.

In NZ the v8 xls gets lsd, abs and sports suspension (& a/c) standard so the difference in price compared to the XR8 makes the xls very attractive. $14300 diff.

cheers for the support:bsr:

Unfortunately things like that happen. I was fortunate in my time carting vehicles I only ever damaged one indirectly and it was secondhand. I remember spending almost 90 minutes getting an FTE Cougar Eibach off my truck because the spring chocks had come out - other guys might have said stuff it and driven it off as is.

Thet's why I get upset when my car gets damaged. My pursuit had at least TEN damages on it when delivered. Bloody poor in my opinion.

Sorry, must correct myself. Damages and flaws. Most were paint and many have been resprayed. Thankfully, the marks on the body structure were minor.

First Drive

Well I picked her up on Friday night and did 500ks over the weekend.

They ran out of time to fit the leather so thats tomorrow.

So far so good, no rattles or funny noises, all of the plastic panels line up nicely. The exhaust is very quiet so a trip to Herrods is in order.

I will post some shots of her by the end of the week.

This ute is the ultimate sleeper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cheers
