Thanks for that great photo of the sump and the crossmember. I will difinately be cutting the bar and welding it 1' forward (its a simple job and quicker than grinding the sump in my opinion). The EA engine mounts do flex. I had a minor front end prang once and the engine fan hit the radiator. The mounts were stuffed but nevertheless its too close for my comfort.
