I have a rear axle from an EA Falcon, I was wondering how would I go about removing the crownwheel and centre assembly without the use of a seperator tool? I have the axle shafts out, just cant work out how the heck to get the centre out.
Just checking it out to see if my 4.11:1 gears are salvagable after blowing the diff. They're a bit chipped though so might have to just throw them away.
i have heard of people putting one end of the diff in a vice, and hanging something heavy (like 20kg) off the other end, and apparently that seperates it enough to be able to remove them fairly easily - i wouldnt know though, i have never done it.
