There should be no problem driving it for awhile as is and it's not something you need to fix before you drive it again. It may effect your off-the-line power as well as your fuel economy but other than that there shouldn't be any adverse affects for now. Just keep in mind that it should be taken care of when you have the time/money to get it done.
If in doubt, call a tranny shop in your area and talk to them for a couple of minutes. They're usually glad to offer suggestions over the phone for absolutely no charge.
