cool 1993 F-150 Oil Pressure

I am original owner of 1993 F-150 with EFI 302. Pick-up still runs great with 170K miles. I have noticed over last couple of years that oil pressure guage reflects pressure at low end of NORMAL and it is has continued to drop from the R to O to now the N. Sometimes it moves up to b/w O and R, but it is usally around the N these days.

Is this likely to be a guage or pump problem? How do I check the guage and sending unit first to see if this is the problem? Where is the sending unit located?

Should I install a separate guage that gives a numeral read-out?

If oil pump needs to be replaced, how big of a job is this?

Let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks.
