Ey guys in the last few weeks i've noticed that my zetecs been drinking alot more petrol than usual. I used to get up to 120 clicks before i hit the Full line but now i'm only getting about 80 clicks? Thats a good 40kms i'm missing out on there. Just wondering if you guys are gettin better fuel consumption with yours or is there a problem with mine?
maybe you have changed your driving style ? is it due for a service, have you changed brands/RON of petrol ?
something clogged up at all ?
with your next service complain that the consumption is crap and get them to upgrade to the latest code of software, that helped mine heaps, getting over 520kms out of about 48 litres now
I haven't changed my driving style at all (I kinda noticed a difference after i was doing some naughty things with the car, i don't think that i would of affected it 3 weeks down the track but i don't know)
I'm sitting on just under 10,000kms go the 15,000km is coming up,
I still use the same petrol Shell Optimax that ive used since day 1 except for that 1 time i used Mobil Synergy 8000 i think it is.
It's really annoying me because the other week i clocked up about 625kms on about 50 liters before i filled up and now I did a 550km run on about 50 liters same driving.
I'm lucky to get 10L / 100km on mine. That'd give me 500km from 50L. I only use optimax but mine is basically all city driving, so you aren't doing too bad there at all, or is mine really bad and should I get mine checked? Only done 7000km.
Boy oh boy. I get about 700km or so from a tank.... but my run into work is very cruisy and not stop start at all, all highway conditions. Efficiency has been excellent, probably a touch worse lately as its due for its 30 thousand service in a month or so.
Which I think is far too distant from the last service, but thats an entirely different topic altogether....
Yup I get around 6-700km a tank on the hyway like Zanet, bout 450-500 around town, I use BP ultimate 98ron. But to get this I must sit on at least 130kmh if I sit on 110kmh I get less kays...
If I use normal premium it sucks it down, like 400km on the hyway!

700km? that's awsome! I'm getting about 460-500km before the light comes on. Then again, I drive like a maniac, and the 65mm throttle body, and cold induction and exaust wouldn't help my economy much.
I get about 500km from good strong HARD driving in city traffic daily on 95 RON Caltex Premium. Until just before my 30,000km service I was getting about 450km at best from 50 litres but now am seeing beyond 500-500 in the city on about 50 litres.
Highway I have seen consumption of around 7.34 litres from memory, which equates to a range of around a 750km, I have effectively seen 690km from a tank on the highway with go go juice left, didn't want to risk anything. Clean oil REALLY improves your fuel consumption, worth keeping the car serviced purely for that reason if any. My Zetc never gets driven any less that enthusiatically every day and at around 10l/100km I'm very happy. In the city that is.
i got around 700km from a about 50 litres on my trip to melb, and that was with some very spirited overtaking (read: flat from 100kph to 170kph) which was fun.
I'll be driving down to Melbourne in a few weeks..... moving there PERMANENTLY all of a sudden, just scored a job with Ford Motor Company Head Office in Broadmeadows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sales and Marketing in the Graduate Program. Wow. I'll let y'all know how my new exhaust (to be installed son) affects my fuel economy.

I'll try and sneak in a few spare RS's and even lob in a few Fiesta ST and RS models too if possible... just covertly send me all ur addresses... he he he
I'll get you lazy Melbourne club member going if it's the last thing I do!!!!! But seriously, it'll be good to meet you all!!! I'll defintely be the most well known club member then... just hope Timbo and the gang can keep up here in Sydney!!!
I'm putting on a 2 1/4 incher most probably, stainless, with just a single high flow muffler... getting rid of both restrictive stockers and putting on a single high-flow. I am happy staying to 2 1/4 because I think the 2.5 inch will be a little loud for my liking. I'm picky, just want sporty and powrfurl without too much drone and loss of low down torque due to lack of back pressure. I'm really only deciding on the tip I'll use. Probably a 2.5 inch single, but the idea of a nice sexy twin tip is really really tempting me. Involves some simple bodywork mods, making the hole wider, but will discuss with my exhaust mate soon... I'll keep you all posted.
Start there July the 5th at this stage. Am free the weekend of July 26/27 I think, any ideas peoples? Would love nothing more than a good drive up the Putty Road, never done it before in the Focus and I think it'd be fun to have a few ST's and other Foci along for a decent drive and lunch together somewhere. Relaxed, fun and a good chance to get the Foci out in the public arena!!
My dark angel is able to reach 210 km/h but it's easy for me to do 20 km/l on the highways at 120-130 km/h .......unbeliveble for petrol users
yes gotta love the economy of diesel there, and proves that you can get some good speed out of the cars as well
