Getting bad fuel economy so im gonna get my injectors cleaned, but then i read that a black exhaust tip means that its running rich, so maybe it's the O2 sensor thats at fault? (even though it doesnt report any faults with a diagnostics check)
i got a stainless steel one and after i got my extractors on it was black like that on the inside im guessin maybe all the crap got taken out maybe even my cat is gettin to old cuz i am getting good fuel economy
City driving with stop, start traffic will cause the tip to go black. Go for a good 20-50 km drive and then assess the colour. ps. Give the chrome tip a good clean with steel wool and plenty of water, inside and out!
as Galaxy has already said it is the lead that gave the pipe a grey coloring
all cars running on unleaded with have a black pipe
