hi,

im about to do another serive on my EF. so i thought i should check the auto too.

i checked, its full, and brownish colour, should i change it?

how would i go about it, is there a sump plug, or do i remove the pan?

is there a special fluid for it?

Cheers
Greenie

Gotta drop the pan. Loosen the bolts first, let it drain with the pan on, then come back and remove the pan totally. Messy otherwise.

Dextron 3 will do the trick, forgot how much you need.

20,000 km's is a good interval to change trans fluid.
I'll confirm that fluid.. DON'T use dextron 3, the TQ 95 is the correct spec.

ok thanks for that.

also i have another problem, thought i would post it here instead of creating a new thread.

i blow a fuse, so i took the one outta the air bag, till i went to the shop to get a new one, the one i blew wouldnt let the car start without it.

i replaced the airbag fuse, now the "airbag" light on the dash still flashes, any ideas?

well, how many kms you done? My trans guy reckons anything over 150k you should do a full flush (Ie get all old oil out of torque convertor). but its up to you. changing sump oil is better than nothing! I believe there is tech article to do full trans flush either here or on fordmods.com
