I agree with Yellow Fire. IMO it wouldn't be original, if you had say a cut and shut on say a genuine GT been involved in a accident that wrote off the front of the car (touch wood).
It would be unfortunate, but I cannot see how the vehicle should been allowed to be called original after the cut and shut job, even if you found another GT to destroy to do the job.

No offense, but I think your missing the point.
The points being made are in relation to the physical chassis / body not a plate that can be simply drilled out and pop-rivited to another vehicle.
