Not with you on the footrest though .... never had an issue in the T or my previous BA .... and I read a report (somewhere) that talked about the number of ankle and lower leg injuries caused by footrests and non breakaway pedals in severe accidents that encroached the lower firewall.
Didn't think about the injury risk with a foot rest, makes sense now that you mention it.
I saw a documentry on car accidents a while back, they showed the damage sudden stops, from crashes, causes to the bones in feet & ankles when all the body force is directed to those parts of the body. It was not prety.
