have managed to acquire myself a DF LTD interior rather cheap off a mate - but its in cappa theme - now the seats aren't too much of a worry, but the door trims really wont match the interior of mine (EF Futura grey...) so i was wondering about getting the vinal on the trims dyed to match the dash etc - does anyone know if this can be done? then i can keep the fabric on the trims, which will match the seats, and have that lovely woodgrain! anyone got any thoughts on this?
If ive read this right - you want to dye the door trims from grey to cappucino to match the seats. Is that right?
What about your dash (or did you get a capp. one).
Personally im not keen on dying plastics because it doesnt stand up to wear very well (any bits that are reuglarly used like door handles, buttons etc will wear off very quickly and look terrible), and depending on how good you are with it, and how good the plastic is before you even start, it can come out looking all blotchy and terrible.
It'd be very hard to find some capp. door trims as they're very rare, but i think that would be your best bet. Failing that, have the seats retrimmed in greay velour/leather.
sorry - didn't make myself clear enough. i have the DF LTD interior in cappa velour. the seats aren't too over the top, and neither is the fabric on the door trims, but the trims themselves are - i want to change from cappa to grey - well, certain parts of the door trim... does this make more sense?
lol correct... DF LTD interior seats & door trims in velour - with the woodgrain trims, padded armrests, full electrics, etc... all sitting in the bloody garage!
i've kinda put out some feelers, but had no real interest in them at all - so if you know someone, let me know! i'm not after too much for them really - if i could get enough to cover buying a grey interior from a fairmont or something, i'd be very happy!
hmmmm... might do so - but the more i look at the trims, and picture it in my mind, the more i reckon i could make it work! hehe. well, i'll have to take it to a trimmers and see what the cost may be before i make any big decisions...
