My friend has a 2000 Nav. with the 5.4 dohc,he bought a 5.4 off ebay that is sohc. My question is what problems might we encounter installing this if it is even possible?

I know this might be reverse engineering but its our only option at this point.

Thanks in advance to any reply.

I was thinking the IAC and maybe the coolant temp sendor? Not getting a check engine light so don't think there are any codes. Any thoughts?

LA Preview: More Powerful Engines Expected When 2011 Ford Mustang Models Debut in LA

Image: http://www.autoguide.com/gallery/d/58507-4/10Mustang_01.jpg

Rather than the more traditional venue of Detroit, the Ford Motor Company will use the LA Auto Show to debut its new lineup of 2011 Mustang models. Just last year the car was significantly revised with a modernized exterior and a significantly improved interior that is now well beyond what the competition is offering. There's only one problem, with just mild updates to the engine, both the V6 and V8 are lagging well behind in the horsepower war.

Ford is expected to rectify the situation with the 2011 models, with reports indicating that a new V6 could offer up as much as 300-hp, while a new V8 could deliver 400-hp – with a displacement of 5.0-liters, no less! Expect news of six-speed transmissions as well. The other rumor is that the GT500 will get an aluminum block, helping it shed pounds and improve the car's overall balance.

Ford won't confirm or deny these reports but Ford's global product boss Derrick Kuzak did tell the folks at Autoblog that all questions would be answered at the LA Auto Show in December. Also, when asked about the aluminum-block GT500, Kuzak said, "That's a good thought."

The engine updates are much needed for the Mustang to put it back on top. The car has suffered significantly in sales in 2009, being beaten out by the Camaro for three straight months. While the Mustang is quite capable, even with the less powerful engine, horsepower numbers sell cars. And if the Mustang can offer everything it has now, plus more power and (presumably with a six-speed transmission), better fuel economy, then there's no reason to buy anything else.

AutoGuide's live coverage of the LA Auto Show starts December 2nd.

1994 Crown Victoria LX, no dash light or running lights. Headlights, turn signals and brake lights work fine though. Fuses check out fine. From a bit of research that I've done it seems to be the lighting control module. I'm not a Ford guy, so can anyone verify that and where is the LCM on the CV? I'm guessing something like that is going to be buried in the dash somewhere right? Thanks guys.

Leaked: 2011 Ford Mustang Details Slip Out

Image: http://www.autoguide.com/gallery/d/58483-4/10Mustang_38.jpg

Ford is set to announce big changes to the 2011 Mustang at the LA Auto Show in just a few weeks time, but thank to someone with access to the company's ordering system, a few details have already slipped out.

Among the details include news that the California Special will return. There will also be an SVT package with 19-inch wheels, an RR spoiler with gurney flap, stripe delete and a 3.73 limited slip rear end. Other details are scarce, but there was a listing for the GT500 Convertible, that included a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 engine. That would mean some sort of EcoBoost V8 is out, but it still leaves open the possibility that the V8 will have an aluminum block, which will help the GT500 lose a bunch of weight where it needs to most.

As for the Mustang GT, it will get a six-speed automatic transmission – although that may still be optional.

Ordering for the new 2011 models will begin on January 18th, but we should know more about the 2011 Mustang revisions once the car's debut at the LA Auto Show on December 2nd.

Hello all, I have an 01 Windstar Sport. After sitting for about a year I decided to put it back on the road. The O\D was flashing and the van felt as though the brakes were dragging. Changed all brake pads, rotors and drums ect. Now to fix the O\D light. From what I'v read I think it could be the Vehicle Speed Sensor. When driving it hits about 3200rpm to go 80km\h and never does change gears and also does not have power enough to drive up the car ramps. Its a $40.oo part here, is it worth the gamble or should I take to the local trans. shop for a dianosis.

Ciao a tutti.:hit:
Ho acquistato da una decina di giorni una Focus Station 1.6 tdci 90cv del 2006 con circa 50mila km.
La concessionaria ha eseguito un tagliando prima di consegnarmi la vettura.
Mi è sempre piaciuta molto esteticamente (la 3a serie poi è ancora più bella) e il rapporto qualitÃ* / prezzo descritto da amici possessori mi è sembrato invitante.:hy:
Vado al sodo: fin dai primi chilometri mi accorgo di due probabili problemi, ovvero:
- in marcia, da circa 80 km/h in su, a qualsiasi regime del motore e con qualsiasi marcia innestata, si sente un rumore, proveniente (almeno come sensazione iniziale) dalla zona cruscotto / parabrezza lato sx., come di un oggetto che vibra;
- il rumore in marcia potrebbe provenire dal vano motore, ma serve un'analisi più approfondita;
:bowd:
Grazie!

Power Steering Fluid - 2002 Escape XLS

*2002 Escape XLS 2.0L 4-cyl w 5-spd manual.*

I'm planning on doing a power steering fluid flush. The owner's manual says to use
Mercon ATF, but from what I've read it's no longer available (not sure).
The auto parts stores sell P/S fluid of course, but I have no idea if it's the same as the Mercon, and I'd guess that ATF would be cheaper.
So... What fluid can I use for the power steering?

Coolant leak HELP

Whats going on fellas, Im in need of help, my 99 Navigator(4x4 5.4)has been having a significant coolant leak. Right away I thought it was the water pump and having 100k miles suggested I should replace it as well with the radiator. Well to my surprise as I took off the old pump it was completly dry in the front but had a pool of coolant directly behind it on the block itself. Ok so I figured it was the seal that went bad. I installed the new one and at first no leaks until about 3hrs later and only drove it around my street for a bit and resulted with a pool of coolant under the truck, doesnt drip in the front but in the middle by the transmission area-guess it funnels and drips there. If someone has a clue please lmk also if someone could provide with the schematics of the cooloant system for my truck that would be greatn Thanks in advance!!!
