:noNO::MmM:My 2005 Ford Five Hundred would not start; After many attempts It started poorly and the indicator stated "engine fail safe mode". Worried, I called my brother Pablo who manages O'reillys in Seattle Wa.; He told me to close the doors and leave the locks open; if the alarm light is blinking on the dash then that may be the problem. (the alarm should not be activated with the doors unlocked, the light should only blink when the doors are locked) the car is in theft mode and will not start. This has something to do with the computer chip on the key lock button, we got the spares worked the locks, worked the door pass buttons until it worked correctly. My brother also told me to disconnect the battery to reset the computer if all else fails.
