'00 Grand Marquis - Identifying ABS/Traction Control

Hi all. New here.

I'm considering buying a 2000 Grand Marguis LS. My question is, how can I determine/identify whether the car has ABS and Traction Control? I know they were optional and not standard on the 2000 model year. I've tried researching the VIN but have found nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Physically check the brakes, if you see a sensing wire on the back of the calipers, it has ABS

If I'm not able to do that, is there any interior/exterior badging that would show it has ABS/Traction Control?

As stated above look for abs wiring at wheel. When you start the car look for an ABS light to do a prove out ( come on when start the car and go out after a few seconds) . As for traction control some years had an off switch on the dash and badge on the right side of the dash in the glove box area. Usually says advancetrac I think.

Re: '00 Grand Marquis - Identifying ABS/Traction Control

You probably got it figured out by now, but on my 2000 Marquis LS, the traction control on/off button is inside the glovebox on the left side of the compartment. There is also the "dummy light" which is on the left side of the dash under the instrument cluster. As stated above, the light will come on for a few seconds when the car is first started, and will then go off. Its a bright orange light which says "TRAC/ABS". My car also has a "PrecisionTrac" label on the passenger side of the dash board on the "wood" trim.
