I recently bought a 2003 CVPI at a public auction for 850.00. The car has 300k on it and was a former police car turned taxi. Dont know anything about the previous maintenance peformed, but its a "spectator" car. I took it home 3 weeks ago, the car smoked like all hell, both blue and white. First there was about 10 qts of oil in the car drained that and still smoke, so I added a bottle of no smoke and engine restore. The car stopped smoking and burning oil for now. so after cutting off the exhaust and racing it last weekend took it back home and decided to add some octane boost junk.. well the car smokes again but the smoke is defiantly blue and smells of burning oil.. it burns when the gas is to the floor but theres a smell of it and still burns it. So i was going to get fresh oil again and another can for restore and keep repeating as needed or is there something like a gasket i should change? any help would be great. Im posting pics of the car too!

Gaskets and seals control leaks...is it leaking somewhere? With 300K of severe service, it would be a total miracle if it didn't burn oil! Have you got 20W50 in it? If it's a race car...why worry about burning oil? The Car Talk guys say Restore is the only thing that even remotely comes close to working but I had no luck with it in an old Nissan pickup.

Rebuild or Demolition time...

True But I added the restore and no smoke about 2 weeks ago and it was fine it sopped smoking untill I added that injector cleaner/octane boost. Understandable that after 300k alot of things are worn out, But is it possible that ti could be just varnished oil caked in the fuel system?

if you put resto in it and it stopped smoking im going to call bad rings. 300k just replace the motor. what use is that car? just a like on-site car for like construction or junkyard?

I race the car in a "spectator" class at the clay track by my house. Basically Its any full size car, remove all glass except windshield, remove head and tail lights, remove the airbags, leave the car interior as stock as possible and working seatbelts and a crash helmet is required. Basically the point is to be cheap so people wreck cars. but I changed the oil again and added more restore and 20w-50..no more smoke for now. has a faint burning smell but no smoke. well A new motor might be in the works for a winter project but right now ill just keep adding more oil as it burns off.
