04 Crown Vic with 110,000 miles
This car has been superb except for one thing. At about 60,000 the front shocks had to be replaced at the dealer. The symptoms were increasingly hard bumping on less than perfect roads and a lower front end. At its worst you could manually cause the front to bounce on the stops. After replacment of the shocks ($685. at the dealer) the original good ride was back. Now at 110,000 the same symptoms are occuring. When you look at the shocks there is no obvious problem. This just seems like short life for schocks to me. This car has seen mostly good roads and good care. I know that schocks are'nt respnsible for ride height but it seems to me that the front is sitting a little lower. I dont know if the coils may have weakened. If I do replace shocks what do you reccomend other than the ford parts. Any suggestions are welcomed.
thanks
