I have a 2004 crown vic that has full power, but won't crank. if i put power to the starter it will turn over, but not with the key. the security light is flashing, and i've tried unlocking and locking everyway but no luck. any suggestions?

Not sure about Ford security key, but with GM in that year, there's a master key that has to be used prior to the other after a battery disconnection. Don't if Ford did the same thing, but it's worth a shot, if you have the other key.

Flashing Theft light indicates a key issue or an issue with the Secure Lock chip key system. Do you have another programmed key that you can try??? Otherwise you'll need to have it diagnosed with a factory scan tool or equivalent.
