I have and 04 grand marquis, 75000 miles. The power steering is hard to operate, more so when the vehicle is cold. Some times it seems to work well and other times not at all. Fluid reservoir is full, no apparent leaks. Any thoughts? Thanks.
The system has speed sensitive steering. If a circuit has a problem, it will sometimes go to hard steering as on the road. Does it have air suspension?
I don't know if AutoZone can pull codes on the steering system but you could try there. They don't charge for that.
