04 lx sport?

Hi everyone. Someone locally is selling an 04 lx sport with 170,000 miles on it, body looks OK , for under $900. He says its passed the emission test and all that. The funny part is that the guy advertises the car as a "Crown Royal LX." I have a 98 P71 on natural gas that has a rusty drivers fender, worn out tires, no hubcaps, a cracked windshield and dented hood from vandals throwing rocks and bottles, missing front door mouldings, a broken power window motor, check engine light just started glowing but I haven't checked the code yet, and a single exhaust system. and 120,000 miles on the clock. Do you guys think it would be a good idea to buy the lx sport, part it out and fix up my 98? I know it sounds better to part out the 98 and drive the 04, but I like running natural gas because it is only $2.80/ gallon and gas is $5.60/ gallon here in Canada. I don't really have extra money right now, but I know I will have to spend money on repairs for my 98 soon. Do you think the LX sport rims will work ok on the 98? I know that the offsets differ on the newer cars.

Re: 04 lx sport?

Most everything body wise should fit except for the wheels, driveline and such too.

Re: 04 lx sport?

You might want to check prices on Sports before making your decision. There seems to be a lot of interest in them and nice ones are hard to find. I would buy another low mileage Sport in a heartbeat, if it were equipped properly. BTW, I might not have understood your post clearly, but all Sports have dual exhaust, bucket seats and a floor snifter.
