08 GM A/C Quit-The problem

I thought I might put this here for future knowledge. Last year, my A/C quite working. Turns out it had lost all the refrigerant. The problem was that the bottom of the alumium accumulator tank had a hole caused by corrosion. The mechanic at PEPBOYS said the design of the tank has it sitting in a plastic shell and there isn't anyway for water (plus salt) to drain out from between the two. Maybe folks in corrosion prone areas should look into this so they are not having to buy a new accumulator and a system recharge.
