1984 CV what is this on my exhaust manifold? - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

I know this car is supposed to have o2 sensor(s) but this does not look like one allthough it goes to the lean/rich adjustment on the carb...
it looks like just a steel pipe from the exhaust manifold straight to the carb...
the pics are on the bottom of the page any help will be appreciated.

ALSO BlueSteel do you still have exhaust manifolds, I emailed you my address when I took the car off the road, and I never got how much you would charge, that was a long time ago I almost forgot.

Thats your mechanical choke, heat comes from the manifold then travels to the choke to heat it up so it turns to the full open position. They tend to crap out cause exhaust sediments clog the pipe and cause the choke not to work. It'll make it hard to start in mornings, stall time to time at first start up, and some times stubber and rock. As for the manifolds......... I'm sorry, I maneged to forget about it.
