1990 Gr Marquis - Blend Door Questions
I am trying to help neice in MT. Vernon IA (at college) get heat in 90 Gr Marquis. She took it to a shop and the invoice reads" "blend door stuck" "lubed"- the mechanic said might take week to start working. If not 700 bux to remove dash. NOT!
So i am looking to cheat!
1) can we get our hands on the vacuum motor to pull the vac hose to check for vacuum? Are those parts reachable? (through glove box?)
2)this car has the auto climate control - are there any parts there that could be keeping the door closed where it would make it just look like it is stuck.
3)what are thoughts on the lube - i got a bad feeling about that - when my son pulled dash on his 98 expy - the door hinge was a metal/plastic combo - not metal to metal
4) could i disconnect link from vac motor and try to move door with pliers - even if i have to drill hole in plenum to get a screwdriver in there to pop it free - a little duct tape cud plug the hole - HEY its a '90!
5) anyway to get a diagram/pix of the blend door so i don't drill into the core!
