Sorry guys, I'm sure this has been brought up a few hundred times but I can't for the life of me find the search button.

Anyways. I have a beautiful 1991 5.0 V8 Mercury Grand Marquis that runs like a champ for a car i won in a game of poker.

...she is having some idle problems though. No driving problems, just when I come to a stop she idles really low and catches herself....then really low and catches herself...then really low....etc.

She will often stall out if I don't throw her into neutral and give her some gas.

Anyways, I'm absolutely new to V8's. I'm somewhat of a Nissan guy, I've done multiple engine swaps with older 510's and 200SX's...so I know quite a bit regarding those specific engines...however, V8's....no idea.

So, what are some of the basics I should be checking for with this issue.

All advice welcome and yes I know Nissan...blech....I'll tell you this though, a foxbody stang will definitely have my interest sometime in the near future.

Im not an expert either :-P...

but I would start with the IAC (Idle Air Control Valve)

they are highly susceptible to carbon build-up - which would cause rough idle if i'm not mistaken
