What would be the most commons problems, to look for, that would cause the odometer to stop working? Speedometer is still working.

There is a small plastic gear in the gauge cluster that is prone to failure. Buy a set (2 parts, 1 each) here and replace it. This requires removing some trim but is a reasonable ~3 hour project for most DIY people. I'm assuming you have an analog gauge.

Not a hard job at all. You will need to remove the cluster trim, but you should be able to get the cluster clear plastic cover off without removing the cluster itself. Top screws are tight to get into but I was able to do it last year. If you have to remove the cluster it still isn't a hard job. You will need Torx screw driver set. and the odometer piece pops out with a small screwdriver. Be careful you don't break the tabs that hold the main gear in place. Like jsuthers replyed get the gears from site he pointed you to.

Sorry about this but I was wrong in my prevois post about not having to remove the cluster. For some reason I was thinking about the fuel and temp guages. You do have to remove the cluster to change the gears.
