1992 CV Master Cyclinder

Please have patience with me, can anyone tell me if 1992 Crown Vic master cylinder has a built in proportioning valve?

as far as i am aware, the proportioning valve is located below the master cylinder. it is somewhat a pain to get to and work on. i have had to replace a brake line before that went from it to the rear because of a rusted line. follow the brakelines down off the master cylinder and you should see the proportioning valve.

If you have ABS, the prop. valves are external. If you don't, the valve isn't exactly "built-in" - it's an independent mechanism screwed into the rear port of the MC.

Re: 1992 CV Master Cyclinder

as far as i know and have read, 1995 is when ABS started on the Crown Vics... i might be wrong... yes the master cylinder reservoir is split to allow fluid to front and rear, but there should be a proprtioning valve under the brake booster which is the big round thing that the master cylinder mounts to.
