I am looking at buying a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria P71. The guy said it needs a new LCM because the blinker sound comes on sporadically. The blinkers and all the other lights work properly, its just the blinker sound will come sporadically. Is that somethine the LCM would mess up? How much, roughly, does the LCM cost? I appreciate any help.

That can be from the LCM. Poor connections at the bulbs can too. Try cleaning the bulb contacts and adding dielectric grease. If you end up needing one, get the number from the unit and try here, Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

I hope you can get away with cleaning your contacts. If you have to eat the dealership cost on an LCM, you're going to be out at least $300. If the junkyard is a possibility, avoid the CV's that lived life as a taxi unless the LCM looks recently replaced. Make sure all your brake lights work too. There's a common wire break over the steering column up under the dash that will knock out the corners but wont affect the center brake light.
