I read that the the 2001 has 215hp and the 2004 has 245hp.
Where did they get the extra hp from? Arent both engines the same? ( Cams, pistons...)

The 2001 cars have about 220hp. The 2002+ LX Sport models have 239hp with dual exhaust. The 2004+ P71s have 250hp because they use the intake setup from the Maurauder. As far as I know the yearly increases are mostly the benefit of better tuning, materials/build quality, ECU programs, etc. Bert might have a more definitive answer for you when he gets on.

I think this all that they did to increase power was due to the addition of a knock sensor for more aggressive timing.
