2001 grand marquis hydraulic control unit extra crispy

anyone had the electrical connection get burnt up. Ive been trying to fix my abs problem and i think I have figured it out but I cant believe they want over 700 bucks for just the ecu part of the unit. What would cause it to get so hot?

Could you tell what part was hot? I've never had a problem with one. If you want to get a used one, here's a good way to search. Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

Its right where the electrical connector goes in to the unit. the end that is closest to the nose or front of the car. I scrapped at it with a flat head screw driver and the black stuff that covers the electrical part of the unit is all chared and soft.

That usually is an indication of a poor connection. Corroded or loose. Was it tight?

Its tight all right. I havnt disconnected it yet since Ill need to take the whole hydraulic part of it out at the same time. Ill wait till I have the new one so that I can move the car around the yard if needed.
