Does anyone know how hard it is to remove the fake convertible top on a Grand Marquis? looks like it has paint under the plastic cap just wondering if it is drilled and screwed where the chrome trim is, and how ist held on around the rear window.

Most of the ones that I have seen are glued on over the factory paint. As far as there being holes under it, it depends on who installed it; some have holes drilled to hold the chrome strip down, and some are just held on w/ glue. You could probably very carefully pull up the chrome strip a little to see whats under it, and if there's pins, put it back.

Thanks, Regardless if its screwed or not its coming off i guess ill just have to weld the holes before i spray it. It was my dads car its has 11,000 miles on it but the carriage top is not my thing maybe in few years lol but not now. I want to make it look like a Arizona beige Marauder

An '03 w/ 11,000mi, wow that's a low mileage car. I bought my '96 w/ 75,000mi on it from my Great-Aunt last August, so it was pretty low mileage for its age too.
