Hey guys, I swear I'm really NOT a tard, but I've heard of stripped thread problems and stuff, so can someone please give me a clue about changing spark plugs on my 04 Crown Vic?

It would help to have an illustrated guide....Ok, maybe I AM a tard.

Do the boots tend to disintegrate, or split or anything, and is there any trick to dealing with the coils?

SERIOUS, thanks for any help!

Changing plugs is pretty simple. If you don't have a Chilton's or Haynes maual, it would pay to have one for more than just the plug. The main differences to older car engines, blow out the holes before pulling the plugs and torque them to the proper spec. Too tight and they'll stretch when the aluminum expands from the heat, too loose and they'll loosen and blow out. Use a small amount of anti-sieze on the threads. The coils aren't prone to boot tearing. We very rarely changed them. The plug torque is 13 lb-ft. which is just hand tight with a short ratchet.
