confused 2005 Grand Marquis seat belt compatibility

I have a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis and I had a minor front end collision with it. Now my driver's side and passenger's side seat belts will not come out or retract either.
I had read that Ford/Mercury changed the seat belts in the 2005 CV and GM. I have been to several pick and pull junkyards and cannot find the exact ones that are in my 05 GM, because I haven't seen any 05's. My question is, can I use older model CV/GM seatbelts in my 05 GM? I have found a 03 GM and a 03 CV, but I notice there are some differences with those seatbelts. If someone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it, thanks.

2006 and newer should fit. I think the buckle is different and that may be why they don't fit. You'd have to get both parts if the connector is the same. Check Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market.

Thanks, Bert. These folks might be the ones I have to go through to get them. I have been trying to find them for as cheap as possible, hence the pick and pull junkyards. Just there aren't to many 05 and up GM's in the junkyards I've been to.
It's not the buckle that has given me trouble, it's the bolt/hardware where the seat belt comes up and over your shoulder. Also, the retractors are smaller and slightly shaped different then any of the GMs/CVs I have come across yet. The newest I found was a 03GM and a 03CV both had the same type seat belts but not like mine.
Most of the 03,04, and 05 GMs share the same parts, except these belts in mine are like the ones in the newer GM's. So I'm just wondering if I can use the old style(04 and before) in my new style(05 thru 11)if that makes sense?

Be aware that the seat belt pretensioner must also interface with the air bag computer or else you will get an air bag error code. I would stick with the same year unless I was certain that they interchange. Sorry, nothing is simple anymore.
