'85 Crown Vic keeps stalling when slowing/stopping - Ford Forums

Hello, I'm new to the forums. My names Eric, I'm 17, and I've had my Crown for about a year now.

Ok, enough with the introduction. My Crown Vic (5.0 carb) has been stalling almost everytime I go to slow down for a stop sign or sit at a light. This just started happening about 3 days ago, and I don't know why. Today I adjusted the idle up some to see if it would help, but it did nothing and even seems to have made it worse. There's a few other things with the car that are wrong as well. There is a vacuum leak somewhere seeping through the dash, the EGR to the best of my knowledge has been removed and plugged up, and I know the carb needs a rebuild. Other than these things, what else could be causing it to die?

Any suggestions?

1985 was a CFI. Try some injector cleaner, also if you get to a autozone they have a computer that checks it, tell them the engine light comes on, even it don't. There not allowed to check cars that the engine light don't turn on, I found that out.
