Removing the speakers is pretty straightforward...to get the dash speakers out you need to remove the dash pad, the door speakers (if you have them) come out by removing the door panels, and the rear speakers should be removable from the bottom.
Also, when you put the new speakers in, you'd be wise to run new speaker wire to them, because Crown Vics used a system known as common ground, where the body substitutes for the wiring for one side of the speaker. For a good sounding system, it doesn't work too well.
I don't believe there's a factory amp in there, but don't hold me to that. However, if you run new speaker wires, you'd be bypassing it anyway (assuming it exists).
