I'll try the gunk thing....the cap and rotor were replaced...i never noticed any lights when it died...if it happens again I'll take note...as far as the alternator, it is new...after the cap and rotor were replaced i did notice that it does not do it as much..but like a bad penny it will come back. its been hot here in chicago and when the air is on it never happens, I've replaced the idle control speed actuator with a bone yard model,they both cant be bad,besides its a cheap way of narrowing down the problem...after the gunk thing...I'll replace the plugs...let you know what happens..
