'87 Crown Vic cold weather starting problem
Hi all,
I've got an '87 crown Vic that doesn't like the cold. This car won't start unless I use the gas pedal and then it won't idle. Even once it's warmed up, it will stall when I stop.It seems to happen at temps below -12 C (10 F). This car used to start just fine at -30 C (-22 F) and always ran great. Another symptom is the idles will surge or jump up to about 1600rpm while driving.
I've replaced the TPS and checked most sensors but I'm now thinking the throttle air bypass valve. Is there a way to test this valve and do you think I'm on the right track?
Please help!!!
