Has anyone ever experienced this? My '89 Crown Vic, 302efi, occationally will not not start on the first try. I will shut off the key and and try 2-3 times and it will go. It seems more often on a cooler or humid day. Did remove the distributor and replace the Ign Module, clean and service dist but problem persists.
I have the same problem in my CFI crown vic (1984).
takes a long time to start on some days after running for a while will start up fine first try no problem
For me, if this happens it only happens on the first start-up of the day. The rest of the day no problems. It actually did this for 6 starting attemps yesterday morning I fear it's gonna get worse. I need input.
Thanks.
Odd, I have the same exact problem with my 1986 LTD. First start of the day. I'll drive a little bit, then tap the gas and it will putter and stall. If you floor it when it's about to stall, normally it will stay running, though.
same problem as bingo almost exactly, except when I accelerate when cold the engine will hesitate/sputter and if I floor it it will just stall out. Warm, it runs no problem no hesitation no stalling.
MAybe a choke related problem, I havnt had a chance to check it with the engine cold yet, but I think it may not work and is always off
