90 crown vic , wont start of key..

hey guys , i just started having a problem with my cv , when i go to start it theirs nothing... but when i jump it under the hood from the starter relay it fires right up.. it sounds like the neutral safety switch but i don't know, any ideas ?

Have you tried it in neutral? Move the lever and hold the key to start and see if the starter engages in any other position.

You can see a wiring diagram on the Autozone website. | Repair Guides | Wiring Diagrams | Wiring Diagrams | AutoZone.com figure 9. Then check from the ignition switch. Start with the white/pink wire to the neutral switch and see if it comes out of the red/black to the solenoid.

Does any one have any idea where the neutral safety switch is located ? on the column or on the trans ?

I belive that one is on the transmission.

neutral safety switch is on transmission... it sticks straight up with wires that pull off... if the car starts from jumping the solenoid... sounds more like the solenoid crapped out and nothing else. they can get cracked and allow moisture in them causing them to go bad since they are brittle plastic housings
