hey guys , im looking for some help on removing the tfi module on my distributor and replacing it since i think its on the way out , i know theirs two screws in it but one seems impossible to get at unless the thermostat housing is removed.

My 90 Cv has been hesatating only when its under load , usally on the highway its the worst around 60mph + . the car has a new fuel filter , wires , plugs , cap & button , there are no obvious vacuum leaks , pcv valve is new. so my guess would be of the following : fuel pump , tfi module or the trans it self but the trans is not even that old ! has me stumped ... what do you guys think ?

Have you checked the timing, fuel pressure & volume? Could also be the MAF. You can clean the MAF with MAF cleaner to see how it does.

had this issue in past... the car would lose power... even flooring it going up hill it would still slow down and backfire some... i ended up changing fuel pump and it solved the issue... you asking about the TFI module could be problem too...

you should use a permanent marker and mark where the rotor is under the distributor cap... then remove the distributor by loosening and removing the 1/2 inch bolt... remove the distributor that way to make the TFI change easier... if you have a timing light, you NEED to remove the spout connector... it is like a jumper... it is a plug looking thing on the wiring to the distributor... you need to remove that when adjusting the timing and adjust to about 12* which seems to run a lil better than the called for 10*
