Hi I have a 1992 Crown Victoria. I was replacing the compressor in the AC system and I bought a new low side filter and I did not know where it went. I was told that it goes next to the compressor on the low side bot there is an alluminum block right off the compressor with a 90 degree elbow. THe only other place it could be is in the Low side line. But there are what looks like compressed fittings with small metal springs on the inside and I can not get these fittings apart????? I bought geplacement springs and rubber orings but I can not get them apart.

yeah, you need a spring lock tool. you can get cheap ones at the parts store for about $9. often the connectors corrode together internally and be a huge PITA to get apart.

by low side filter, I assume you mean the orifice tube. not sure on your model car, but on the 91 and older (box body) cars the orifice tube goes in the line going to the evaporator core. this line sticks up at a 45 degree angle directly under the dryer on the passenger side firewall. I used a pair of long needle nose pliers and twisted, came right out.
