'94 Crown Vic, strange rattling/knocking noise

Hi, I have an odd question that I was hoping someone might be able to help me with.

I have a 1994 Crown Victoria, and it's recently started to make a strange rattling/knocking noise when the car is running. The noise seems to be coming from the fan area, and seems to come and go with no discernable pattern. The volume of it also changes - sometimes you can barely hear it, other times it sounds like an old diesel engine. I know this isn't much information, but if anyone here has any ideas as to what it might be, I'd appreciate the info. Thanks

Hey, I'm not certain, but if I were you I'd check your fan / fan area to make sure everything is nice and tight. A screw or bolt could have worked itself loose.
