95 crown vic wont come out of park?!?

Shifts normal while in drive but after I park and put it in park It wont come back out? Any thoughts would help. Feels like its locked.

I'm guessing it's related to the safety interlock that requires you to step on the brake in order to get it out of park...something in that system has failed. Sorry I can't give more specific advice, but I'd be willing to bet it's something in that system.

Seems to be in the ignition. All brake functions are normal but a jiggle of the ignition helps. thanks.

BOO (brake on/off) switch. The relay, I believe, is right by the brake pedal. Not uncommon for these to go bad.

HE He...I ran into this problem a few months back on my 93....Very large flat head screw driver and a good hammer..take the ignition cover off...the bolt in witch the shifter is connected to has a flat head type screw facing you....couple of good taps and youll hear the safety pin drop to the floor....."WARNING" I did this as a last resort..seeing as I got mad when it wouldnt shift from park and I broke the shift handle completly out of the console.
