My regulator went a few weeks ago. At the garage they're telling me it's a 200 hundred dollar job. That seems pricey. Is this a potential do it yourselfer? Any specialist tools needed? And how much should I be paying for a new regulator? Any good sites to recommend?

The part is anywhere from $28 to $56, depending on the window that you need. It can be done by using bolts with lock nuts instead of pop rivets. You just have to be careful that you don't break the window. Without knowing your abilities, I can't say if you can do it, but it can be done.
