I have a 96 mercury grand marquis.. i recently had the spark plugs replace and when i got it back i noticed a big loss in power and the check engine light came on the code reads out (Bank 2 lean).. now its to the point that it cant even power the car when it goes into overdrive and if you give it to much gas it falls on its face.. i thought it might be the gap.. so i changed it to .054 i bielieve that is what it calls for if im wrong please let me know but if anyone knows what bank 2 lean means id love to know.. thanks
The gap is on the radiator fan shroud, should be .048-.050, might be .052. Any way, I beleive in 96 they went with (4) O2 sensors, your bank is your exhaust side, I think back one is driver side and bank 2 is passenger, the O2 sensor could be bad and the engine is so lean it stalls or looses power.
