any suggestions for removing stuck rear wheel?

OK. So I was rotating my wheels today on my 98 P71 natural gas car, because the front edges are wearing faster on the front. I rotated the left side just fine. But, on the passenger side, I got all the lug nuts off but the wheel is stuck on the axle. I sprayed it with penetrating oil, yanked on it, pounded it with a 3 pound hammer, but got no results.
Any suggestions?

Aluminum or steel rims?

Ever notice that there's so many high performance parts available for GM products?

Did you ever think that maybe they NEED them?

Put a couple of nuts back on a couple of turns and run the car in gear, then hit the brakes. Use reverse if that doesn't work right away. That's with the rear off the ground and on stands.

Bert, have you done that with alloys?

Yes, I have, The weight of the wheel will try to keep spinning when the brakes are applied and it breaks it loose it at the center. The wheel rotates the little movement on the stud clearance.

Did break work on a toyota & wheel was stuck . I removed all lugnuts, put 2 back on but not all way to rim to allow movement, then rolled car back on pavement & it popped loose . I only moved car back about 10 feet then raised car, snugged lug nuts & rolled back to raise it .

Okie doke, I've done it with steel, never had the balls to do it with softer alloys.

Done the same on breakdown callouts , but just loosened wheel nuts slightly and drove car on the deck to break wheels free .Seen a few getting into the wheels with sledgehammers and then damaging the ABS / bearing on that wheel .Wasn't a problem in the old days , pre ABS .

it's the steel wheels I have. Those all sound like great suggestions. I'll give it a try
