Re: anyone tow?

I used to tow with a 1958 Ford car, no extra coolers but had to beef up rear springs. Or use torque bars to level load.

Re: anyone tow?

Yeah, you can tow with a panther just fine, in fact there was (and probably still is) a towing package for them. The things you'll want to be sure of are that you've got a tranny cooler to keep the trans fluid from overheating, make sure you've got a decent axle ratio (3.27 or 3.55 will work well), and you probably don't want to tow in overdrive. Other than that, buy yourself a universal hitch, throw it on there, do a little wiring, and go to it!

Re: anyone tow?

Just got a tow hitch put on..its a valley hitch. Fits 86 to 96 year models 130.00$ at O'rielly's...only thing I had to do was put some coilover supports in the rear. Works great for towing a 16' Aluminum john boat.

Re: anyone tow?

I have a hitch. I installed tranny cooler crago coils in back and coil over shocks front and back. Did the 4 way wire. I towed a 4x8.5 enclose cargo trailer 10 000km out west and back. It was full with all the camping stuff and food and everthing for 2 weeks. For my wife and I and 5 kids. I want to tow something like a 16 foot travel trailer that weights 2400lbs. I would change gear raito to 3.73 add a brake controller WD hitch.. have anyone towed anything like that with their car???
